One of the monuments of Tarnowskie Góry is the Miners’ Belfry, which for many years, until the middle of the twentieth century, stood by the mine “ Blachówka” in Bobrowniki Śląskie. It served the mine workers in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, although its history (according to tradition) dates back to the sixteenth century. In 1955, the belfry was moved to Plac Gwarków (Miners’ Square) in Tarnowskie Góry and set on the stone foundation, on the site where once the rallying house of miners had stood.
