The Church of the Holy Trinity in Bytom was erected on the site of the former cemetery of the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The place was already outside the city walls, in the so-called Piekarski suburbs. The neo-Gothic church with a 60-meter tall tower was built in the late nineteenth century. The ceremony of consecration took place in 1886, and two years later an independent parish of the Holy Trinity was established.
