The most impressive monument of Pilchowice is buildings of the former monastery and hospital of the Brothers Hospitallers of St John of God. They were erected in the early nineteenth century, and later expanded and rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. Juliusz Roger, a recognized doctor and a social worker, worked in that hospital. Konstanty Damrot, a priest, teacher and poet, spent last years of his life in Pilchowice. He is buried in the hospital cemetery.
n the village of Wilcza, in the district of Gliwice, there is a brick mansion erected in the old Prussian demesne. This neo-Gothic building, dating from the second half of the nineteenth century, is situated in the heavily devastated park. The palace is not open to the public, but you can see it from the outside, when you visit another local landmark, the wooden church of Saint Nicholas. Two hiking trails and the Wooden Architecture Trail run through Wilcza.
The village of Stanica lies in the commune of Pilchowice, in the district of Gliwice. For the first time It was mentioned as a property of the Cistercian monastery in 1258. The church is the last of several successive buildings standing in this place. Its patron saint is Saint Martin of Tours.
The church of Saint Nicholas in Wilcza (in the commune of Pilchowice, in the district of Gliwice), is the third, successive religious building in this place, erected in the eighteenth century. Łany Wielkie
This village of Łany Wielkie is inextricably linked with the nearby village of Żarnowiec, which was changed its location in the fourteenth century and became first Stary Żarnowiec (Old Żarnowiec), and later Łany Wielkie. The Church of Adalbert stood in Żarnowiec (Łany Wielkie) as early as the thirteenth century, and the present church dates from the next century, but it was later rebuilt many times. Inside the church, there are precious medieval frescos.
