Brzeziny is currently a district of Piekary Śląskie. It developed as a settlement in the nineteenth century as a result of the influx of workers to the local mines. In 1880, by the decree of the king of Prussia, the village became the seat of the commune, which resulted in building the headquarters for the communal authorities. The building was probably erected in 1913. It served many purpose, for some time even being the town hall. Today, it belongs to the Communal Water and Sewage Company
