Czaniec in the Little Beskid is known for the dam on the Sola River, a historic manor house and a church and the fact that Karol Wojty³a’s, pope John Paul II’s, ancestors came from here. But few know that in this village there is an unusual monument of technology – an old paper factory, which uses one of the few preserved in the world Girard’s turbins. Now, the factory changed into a small water power plant with this still operating unique turbine.
