Today's Polish Theatre was established in 1890. It was then a city theatre. It is located in the historical part of the city known as the Lower Suburb, which today is part of the center of Bielsko-Biala. The theatre building was built between 1889-1890. It was designed by the Viennese architect Emil von Förster. This is another building that testifies to the cultural unity of Central Europe. According to the concept of the architect it clearly refers to the Vienna State Opera and the National Theatre in Budapest.
