Czaniec lies on the Soła river, at the foot of the Little Beskids, near Kęty. The local church dates from the interwar period, and it was built making use of an earlier Baroque tower, which had remained after the previous building. Moreover, there were three churches standing, here. At present, the shrine is surrounded by a cult of the sixteenthcentury painting of the Polish Pope John Paul II comes from Czaniec.
