In Bańgów, a district of Siemianowice Śląskie, there is a vast cemetery of German soldiers who died in the southern part of Poland during WW2. The cemetery was opened in 1998. The organizational work was entrusted to the German War Graves Commission. About 28 thousand soldiers are buried in Siemianowice. They are commemorated with stone crosses and obelisks with the names and places of the exhumation.
