Lake Dzierżno Duże and Lake Dzierżno Małe were created by filling in the sand old borrow with water. The older reservoir is Dzierżno Małe, which was created in 1938. It is located in the mouth of the Drama river flowing into the Gliwice Canal. The nearby reservoir of Dzierżno Duże (Rzeczycki Water Reservoir) was established in 1964. The both names of the two water bodies come from Dzierżno, a district of Pyskowice. Lake Dzierżno Małe serves primarily recreational purposes.
Dzierżno Lock is one of the most interesting hydrotechnical constructions of the Gliwice Canal, which in 1941 connected the Upper Silesian industrial centers to the Oder River. It replaced the long-serving Kłodnicki Canal. The lock was put in use in 1939 and even then it was one of the most modern in the European waterways. The original machines and devices, which are industrial monuments, are still working here.
The bell tower in Paczyn reminds of the old church of Saint Martin, which stood close to it at the beginning of the 30s of the last century. It was then replaced by an imposing brick building. A moderately short bell tower is a post and beam construction, erected in the in the seventeenth century (the documents mention it in 1679). It is crowned with a typical belfry walled with wooden boards. The bell tower has a tent roof, protected by shingles.
In 2010, Pyskowice, located in the north of the Upper Silesian Industrial Region, celebrated the 750th anniversary of being granted town privileges by Władysław I, Duke of Opole. For centuries, the town was changing, but it has still retained its medieval layout with a centrally located market square and a network of streets. It is worthwhile to see eighteenth-and nineteenth-century buildings of the old town and a Gothic church of Saint Nicholas.
The Jewish cemetery in Pyskowice is located on the voivodeship road 901, leading from Pyskowice towards Gliwice. It was founded in the first half of the nineteenth century, and the last burial took place there shortly after the First World War. There are about 150 tombstones preserved on the cemetery. In 1988, a monument dedicated to the Jews who were shot by the Germans during the Second World War was erected on the site. The cemetery became unfortunately much neglected in recent times.
