The oldest surviving synagogue in Upper Silesia is situated in Wielowieś, a small village located midway between Pyskowice and Zawadzkie. It was erected in the second half of the eighteenth century. An untypical dome crowning the tower gave an exotic character to the village until 1938, when the Nazi barbarians ordered the demolition of the dome. Outside the village there is a cemetery of the local Jews.
