The two-storey church in the Syberka housing estate was being under construction throughout the 1980s. It is one of the churches for whose erection the residents were for a long time struggling with the communist authorities. The idea of the Sanctuary of Golgotha of the East, which was created in the 1990s, commemorates members of many generations of both deportees of the tsarist regime and victims of the Soviet genocide.
