In the South of Hawk belonging to the municipality of Poraj we can meet extremely captivating Heaps-mining fields that make up an unusual climate and colourful expression of this village. They are a great place to rest, relax, stroll to nearby residents and a great place to have fun for the younger.
Mining fields existed in the years 1901-1918 and were subordinate to the Capital Company Bernard Hantke. It was created on the grants in mining assets Piotrowo. Iron ore was mined in the mines on 34 mining fields in the triangle between Jastrzębie, Polish Kamienica and Osinami. Over the river Czarka deep mines were "Peter" and "Joseph", today at their places there are two hamlets called mine. The remnant of the former mining activities are today aftermined heaps, overgrown and partially planted.
