The village of Kobiór is surrounded by the Pszczyna Forest, which for centuries was a source of livelihood for the local villagers. In 2003, a regional museum was opened here. It is housed in a nineteenth-century, nicely decorated, wooden, building - the so-called Smolarnia (Wood Tar Factory). Its residents manufactured wood tar here. Currently, there are two ethnographic exhibitions presenting mainly the equipment collected by the residents of Kobiór.
