In the forest wilderness known as the nature reserve "Hubert", which lies to the north of Toszek, near the villages of Dąbrówka, Świbie and Barut, there is a memorial with a tall cross dedicated to the 200 soldiers of the National Armed Forces, the Home Army and the Polish Armed Forces in the West, who in September 1946 were brutally murdered by the communist secret police here.This massacre is known as "Silesian Katyń".
