Świętochłowice, the smallest district in Upper Silesia, was granted city rights in 1947. However, the Świętochłowice City Hall, located at the current Katowicka Street Katowice, was built as early as the 20s of the last century. It was erected for the administrative authorities of the commune formed in 1922, which included the villages, which until then had been part of the district of Bytom. The Eclectic building has distinct features of Baroque architecture. Inside, there are impressive stained glass windows by Stanisław Ligoń.
