The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Dąbrowa Górnicza Strzemieszyce, which in 2002, was raised to the rank of sanctuary, and in 2008, of basilica minor, was built in the early twentieth century, on the foundations of the spacious chapel, built here a few years before. The neogothic church was designed by Józef Stefan Pomian Pomianowski. There is a statue of John Paul II in front of the basilica.
