The Jewish cemetery in Zabrze is situated at the current Cmentarna Street. It was founded in the second half of the nineteenth century (1871), at the same time, when the Jewish community, and the nearest cemeteries were located in Gliwice and Bytom. Funerals were held here from 1872 to 1954. Some 500 tombstones have been preserved - both traditional tombstones and monumental tombs that were modelled on those ones we know from Christian cemeteries.
