The historic train station in Sosnowiec was built as
part of the Warsaw-Vienna Railway in 1859. It was
designed by Enrico Marconi, one of the greatest
architects in the Polish lands in the middle of the
nineteenth century. The building was erected in the
harmonious neo-Classicist style, referring to the
architecture of the Vienna Station in Warsaw. The
building was a witness to the battle during the
January uprising.
