In Mikulczyce, a district of Zabrze, it is worthwhile to see as many as three historic churches: a wooden Protestant church and two Roman Catholic ones. One of the Catholic churches is dedicated to Saint Teresa and the other to Saint Lawrence. The latter was built in the neo-Gothic style in the late nineteenth century. It was designed by Paul Jackisch, an eminent architect from Bytom. The new church replaced an old, wooden one, which had served the faithful for hundreds of years.
