Rychwałd is a village just a few kilometers north-east of Żywiec, and it is one of the oldest settlements in the vicinity of the city. Beautifully situated Rychwałd is known primarily for the local shrine of Our Lady, whose image, for centuries considered miraculous, can be found inside the eighteenth-century Baroque church of Saint Nicholas. Additionally, the church is worth a visit because of the beautiful interior design combining the Baroque and Rococo styles.
