The Dry Mill

In the eastern part of Silesia naturists will find a great and unexpected attraction - the Pilica river valley. The most valuable part of it, which stretches between Koniecpol and Szczekociny, belongs to “Suchy Młyn” (Dry Mill), part of the Special Area of Conservation “Natura 2000”. The Pilica flows here in its natural riverbed, surrounded by forests and swamps. Visitors can also see otters and beavers, and rare species of plants.

In Przyłęk Szlachecki, a small village on the Pilica, in the eastern part of the Silesian voivodeship, there is a fine, historic church of Saint John the Baptist. The first (wooden) church stood here as early as the fifteenth century. The current brick building dates from the second half of the eighteenth century. It was founded by Justyna Moszczeńska, nee Raczyńska. This is a Baroque building, which is surrounded with a nineteenth-century fence with two bell towers at the corners.
Lelów
The church of St Nicholas in Nakło near Lelów was built around the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The building made of stone blocks replaced an old, wooden shrine, which had been for the first time mentioned in the Middle Ages. Inside the church there are many interesting Baroque monuments. There is a bell tower adjacent to the church. In the cemetery, one can see historic gravestones and a building of the former parish school.

Szczekociny
Szczekociny is a small town situated on the north-eastern edge of the Silesian Voivodeship. The town may boast of the city rights, which were granted as early as the end of the Middle Ages, as an important settlement at the ford across the Pilica river. The traditional center of the town is the four-sided market square with a network of streets. To the east of the market one can seethe beautiful Baroque palace of the Dembiński family. They were the owners, who contributed to the development of the town and neatening its appearance.
Szczekociny
The church of Saint Bartholomew in Szczekociny was built around the midseventeenth century and consecrated in 1666. In the years 1780-1782, the church was rebuilt at the request of Urszula Morsztyn Dembińska. The design was probably made by Ferdynand Jan Nax of Gdańsk. The shrine received the Classicist look. Two towers of the façade merit our attention. The interior is decorated in the Baroque and neo-Classicist styles.
Biała Wielka
In Bogumiłek, a picturesquely situated settlement among the woods settlement near the village of Biały Lelów, there are a well maintained park and manor buildings, which are nearly a hundred years old. The mansion was erected by Antoni Schütz in the 1920s. Antoni Schütz was a member of the distinguished family who contributed to the economic development of this region. They came to Poland from Saxony in the second half of the eighteenth century. Since 1969, the manor has housed the Jan Brzechwa Special Education Centre.
