The nature reserve "Kopce", located in the Cieszyn district of Marklowice, is a protected forested area of approximately 15 ha, once characteristic for the Cieszyn Foothills. The forest grows on the steep right bank of the Olza River and is cut with a number of scenic gorges. There are 14 species of protected plants, including “cieszynianka” (a plant of the Apiaceae family), numerous birds, amphibians and insects. One of the interesting geological features is outcrops of cieszynit (a kind of volcanic rock consisting of Labrador, biotite, sodium amphibole and other minerals).
