Jasienica lies at the northern foot of the Silesian Beskids, roughly halfway between Bielsko and Skoczów. Traditionally, it has been associated with the region of Cieszyn. Therefore, its political and ecclesiastical history is part of the Silesian history. Since the end of the thirteenth century it was under the authority of Bohemia, and from 1526 until the First World War - under the rule of the Habsburgs. The tradition of the parish dates back to the fourteenth century, but the today’s brick church dates from the eighteenth century.
