Water towers as part of the urban water supply systems are still present in the landscape of Polish cities. In Upper Silesia, many of them received an impressive architectural shape. Beautiful examples of different (structurally and stylistically) water towers can be seen in Zabrze. Particularly noteworthy is the Art Nouveau water tower at the former Hospital of Unia Bracka, an organization which took care of disabled miners.
