The village of Stanica lies in the commune of Pilchowice, in the district of Gliwice. For the first time It was mentioned as a property of the Cistercian monastery in 1258. The name “Stanica” once meant a stopping place and was associated with the obligation to provide hospitality to the court of the ruler. There is a church from the early nineteenth century here. The church is the last of several successive buildings standing in this place. Its patron saint is Saint Martin of Tours.
