In the village of Cisiec, near Węgierska Górka, there is a church of Saint Maximilian Kolbe. The shrine was built in defiance of the communist authorities, which wanted to prevent the erection of the church on this spot. The church was built by the local people without the permission of the authorities on November 5, and on the night of 5 to 6 November 1972. Such a fast construction of the parish church in Cisiec was most aptly named "the miracle of one day"), and it illustrates the difficulties posed by the communist authorities, in order to prevent the construction of religious buildings.
