The wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary located on the Starokozielski Cemetery in Gliwice was originally erected in Zębowice near Olesno. It served the local faithful from the end of the fifteenth century to the beginning of the last century. Then, it was carried over to Gliwice. It is archaic wooden structure, with an added tower, was crowned with a helmet and a lantern. The interior, decorated in the Baroque style, dates from the eighteenth century.
