When the city of Świętochłowice was founded in 1947, a town hall was already standing in Lipiny. Lipiny was incorporated to Świętochłowice in 1951. The impressive building was erected for the local authorities and the police in the early twentieth century, in the years 1907-1908. It was built of brick, in the Eclectic style, with a clear reference to the neo-Gothic. The pride of the building is a polygonal tower, covered with a triple helmet.
