In addition to the separately standing
monument facilities in Sławków, a spatial
layout of the old town, with a central market
square (114x114m), is listed in the Register
of Historic Monuments. The urban layout has
survived largely unchanged since the Middle
Ages - with the exception of two streets
running out to the south, which are narrower
as a result of the building activities. Sławków
has retained some interesting historic
buildings, which include a tavern, a well and a
few arcade houses.
The museum in Sławków is actually the Department of
Old Culture of the Town Cultural Center. It has been
operating since 1987. The museum is located in a
historic building at the Sławków market square. Long
ago, the house, which was built in 1870, belonged to
Jan Kuc, a merchant from Sławków. The walls of the
building create a specific atmosphere of this place,
and the cellars themselves area tourist attraction. In
the museum there are collections, most of which were
donated by residents of the town.
The Sławków inn, whose old and official name was “Municipal Austeria in Sławków Called Pierwocha", is located at the market square and it is still an active restaurant. The name “austeria” comes from Italian, and in the old Polish language it meant taverns of the highest standard. They were housed in solid, spacious buildings, in which there was a dining site, offering a wide range of food and drinks as well as hotel and stable services. The inn in Sławków is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesia province.
The Sławków synagogue was built in 1896. It
served the local Jewish community until 1939.
During the Second World War, the synagogue
was devastated. The Germans converted it
into a storehouse. After the war, it stood
deserted, but it was renovated, and for some
time, it was a cultural center. Currently, there
are homes here. The red brick building was
erected on a rectangular plan. The main
prayer hall was located in the eastern part of
the site. The inscription in Polish and Hebrew
placed on the building reminds of its former

Its almost 1000-year-old history has endowed the town with a number of interesting monuments, with its famous Sławków Tavern in the fore-front. Not far from the market square, you can see ruins of the castle of the bishops of Kraków and the bishop’s granary, also known as the Bishop's Court. The current shape of the granary dates back to the eighteenth century. The building has a distinctive, nice mansard roof and thick walls.
