The Ruins of the Glass Factory in Złatna

Złatna, a highland village tucked amid the hills of the Żywiec Beskid, attracts tourists primarily with its landscape values. There are, however, some interesting monuments from the past, including, among others, ruins of a glassworks. Traces of a chamber furnace and the main building of the glassworks can be found in the hamlet of Złatna Huta. White and green glass was produced during most of the nineteenth century, when the owners of these lands were first the Wielopolskis and later the Habsburgs.

Hala Lipowska (Lipowska Pasture Land) covers the southern slope of Mount Lipowski Wierch (1324 m). It is one of the most beautiful glades in the Żywiec Beskids. It is known primarily from a beautiful view on both Pilsko and the Tatras, as well as on Mała Fatra and the peaks of Wielka Racza. In the area of Hala Lipowska a popular mountain hostel of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society has been standing since the interwar period.
The Lipowska reserve belongs to a protected area located in the upper parts of the Beskid Mountains, and in particular to a number of nature reserves serving to protect valuable natural sites, located in the ranges of Pilsko and Lipowska. This region, with an area of 63 hectares, is located in the upper parts of the massifs of Lipowska and Rysianka, has been protected since 2008. It aims at preserving the bogland and the montane forest.
For many years, Hala Rysianka (Rysianka Pasture Land) has competed with nearby Hala Lipowska, as the beautiful vast clearing with a magnificent view stretching from Romanki to Pilsko, through the Tatra Mountains to Mała Fatra. There is a stylish tourist hostel on the glade. In the interwar period, the hostel of the Polish Tatra Society on Rysianka Hall was the center of Polish tourism in this part of the Beskids. The hostel is located at the hub of hiking trails of all colors.

The reserve "Pod Rysianką" is one of the protected areas located in Żywiec Beskids, including fragments of the submontane forests partly on the boundary of the subalpine forests. In the remaining parts of the primeval Carpathian Forest there are, among others, protected plants, and sometimes one can encounter species of rare animals. Along the southern border of the reserve, there is a hiking trail, and in its vicinity the popular mountain hostel “Na Rysiance".
Mount Krawców Wierch, rising to a height of 1071 meters above sea level, is one of the many picturesque peaks of the Beskids. It is located in the border zone between passes of Glinka (to the south) and of Bory Orava (to the north). It is worthwhile to climb to the top because of Hala Krawculi, which is a glade located below the top, and from which there is a beautiful panorama. Accommodation and meals can be found in a stylish mountain hut of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society, which is also known for the many tourist events.
