The "Sztygarka" City Museum in Dąbrowa Górnicza boats almost a century-old tradition. Originally, the museum specialized only in collecting geological exhibits. At present, it also possesses archeological, historical, ethnographic, travel and natural history collections. The museum, located in the former mining administration building, which later housed the school of mining, was built in the firs half of the nineteenth century. Close to the "Sztygarka", there is a drill mine open to the public.
