The oldest monument of the city is undoubtedly the castle in the central district of Sielec. Part of its walls may be dated even to the fifteenth century. Currently, it is a stone building on a horseshoe plan, with three not very tall towers. It houses the Sosnowiec Art Center- the Sielec Castle.

The palace of Dietl in Sosnowiec is one of the most beautiful residential buildings not only in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, but also in whole Silesia. The palace was erected by Heinrich Dietl at the end of the nineteenth century. Heinrich Dietl was a German entrepreneur, who launched in Sosnowiec the first worsted spinning mill in the Polish Kingdom. The palace was built in the neo-Baroque style. It impresses with its magnificent interior design.

The Building of the Old Stanisław Staszic Secondary Comprehensive School in Sosnowiec

This monument is known in the city as the old Realschule. Initially, the building housed the Realschule, and later it was home to the Stanisław Staszic Secondary School. It is a three-storey building in the Neo-Renaissance style, referring to the Italian models. The Realschule located here in October 1898, was the first secondary school in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie. It later housed a prestigious junior high school, which was converted, at some point, into the Stanislaw Staszic secondary school. The school prides itself on a high level of education.

The Family Home of Jan Kiepura in Sosnowiec

Jan Kiepura, a world famous Polish singer, called „a lad from Sosnowiec ", was born on May 16, 1902 in Pogoń, a village which soon became part of Sosnowiec. Due to a happy coincidence, his family home at 6 Majowa Street. Fans of the artist's talent placed a small memorial plaque with his image on the façade of the house.

The Church of St. Thomas in Sosnowiec Pogoń

The church of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Sosnowiec Pogoń is a fine, typical neo-Gothic building, with recently added modern, stylized towers. However, the church has an unusual history. The building was started in 1905, but, unfortunately, after a few years, the funds ran out and the faith were given the without towers, but only with their lower parts. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the investment was completed. The illuminated towers are now the pride of the shrine.
