The Palowice Lake District is a popular name of the charming corner of Upper Silesia, just north of Żory, in the National Park "Cistercian Landscape Compositions of Rudy Wielkie". Pine forests reflect themselves on the surface of numerous breeding ponds, which were created many years ago in the Jesionka valley, a right tributary of the Ruda. The place is full of protected plants and animals and it is accessible to tourists thanks to many walking, Cycling and skiing trails.
