Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk" im. Stanislaus Hadyna and the Association of Upper invite children and youth to participate in the next edition of the Children's Song. prof. Adolf Dygacza "Silesian Singing."
The purpose of the Review is to preserve the tradition of singing the Silesian region, learning the repertoire of folk songs by popularizing forgotten, recording the dialect, reminding the richness and diversity of regional costumes.
Meetings of children and youth during the "Silesian singing," are an excellent opportunity for the emergence and development of musical talent, knowledge about folklore through the exchange of experience between the performers from different parts of Silesia.
Entries may be submitted until April 3, 2009 by completing the form on line or send mail to the address: Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk", ul. Castle 3, 42-286 Koszęcin with a note: request for "Silesian singing."
Final Competition "Silesian chanting" will be held on 12 and 13 May in Piekary Śląskie. Winners perform at the gala concert May 30, 2009, at the headquarters of Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk".
