In the village of Cisiec, near Węgierska Górka, we can
encounter interesting traditions of manufacturing
floral compositions made of tissue paper, as well as
unique, local customs of carol singing, unknown in
other parts of the country. One of the most interesting
places in the village is a museum founded by Jan Talik.
In the museum, we can see the exhibits relative to the
culture of the Żywiec region, and listen to the stories of
the host himself.
In the village of Cisiec, near Węgierska Górka, there is a
church of Saint Maximilian Kolbe. The shrine was built in
defiance of the communist authorities, which wanted to
prevent the erection of the church on this spot. The
church was built by the local people without the
permission of the authorities on November 5, and on the
night of 5 to 6 November 1972. Such a fast construction of
the parish church in Cisiec was most aptly named "the
miracle of one day"), and it illustrates the difficulties
posed by the communist authorities, in order to prevent
the construction of religious buildings.
"In 2008, after 236 years of continuous operation, the Ustroń Forge was shut down. Health resort qualities prevailed over the industry. Currently, the traditions of Ustroń metallurgy and forging are displayed in the Ustroń Museum, located in the former administration building of the steel plant
""Klemens"". The museum strives to serve as a cultural center, so apart from exhibitions, it publishes books, organizes jubilee celebrations, meetings and concerts, promoting artists from Ustroń.
Cisownica is a picturesque village situated in the northwestern part of the Silesian Beskids, amongst low hills,
which form the edge of the mountain range. In 2001,
thanks to the efforts of the Association of Lovers of
Cisownica, a regional chamber "U Brzezinów" was opened
here. It is located on a hillside named “Goruszka” and
collects a variety of traditional furniture, clothes and
everyday objects used several decades ago.
The Catholic parish of Saint John the Baptist in
Brenna now covers most of the tourist resort.
Previously, this area belonged to the parish in
Grodziec, then - since the seventeenth
century - to the parish in Górki Wielkie.
Interestingly, the policy pursued by the
Austrian Emperor Joseph II contributed to the
creation of a separate parish in Brenna in
1784. The church of Saint John the Baptist
was built shortly thereafter and was
consecrated in 1796.
Powstaliśmy 10 lat temu, aby spełnić nasze marzenia. Te związane z muzyką, końmi, jurą krakowsko – częstochowską i restauracją… Zapraszamy ! Zobaczcie je z nami.
