Duszonki - stewed cabbage and potatoes


  • ½ white cabbage
  • 1 kg bacon
  • ½ good quality sausage
  • 2-3 kg potatoes
  • 2-3 onions
  • pepper
  • salt



Peel and slice the potatoes and onions, and chop the cabbage (leave a few leaves whole for later). Add the sliced sausage and bacon. Season to taste and mix all ingredients in a separate dish. Line a cast iron casserole pot with the remaining cabbage leaves and put all the ingredients into the pot. Cover the dish with cabbage leaves and stew for about 60-80 minutes over an open flame.
