Crescent rolls ‘Heavenly taste’

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 packet butter
  • 1 packet margarine
  • 10 dag yeast
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons cream
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 yolks
  • 1 teaspoon salt

 

Directions:

Mix sugar with yeast
And pour it into flour to prepare a feast.
Eggs, fat and cream
Should be added in.
Add salt, but just a bit,
To improve the taste of pastry
and to make it complete.
Knead it until smooth and prime,
And let it rest for some time.
Form five small balls of equal size,
And roll them out so that they are nice.
Cut them into eight pieces,
And spread with something delicious.
Form shapely crescents,
There is nothing more pleasant.
Spread them with egg whites
– that’s the last thing,
Now put into the oven and start
baking.
Eat when still warm, indeed,
Heavenly taste guaranteed!

 

This meal was prepared by the Village Women's Club from Kobiernice during the 4th “Silesian Tastes Festival 2009” in Pszczyna. The Team won 1st place in amateur category.
