'Babka z tarciny' (potato cake)


  • 2 kg peeled potatoes
  • 0,5 kg minced cooked meat
  • 4 eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dried vegetables
  • 0,5 l vegetable stock
  • hot paprika
  • herbs / thyme
  • parsley and celeriac leaves
  • rosemary



Grate 2 kg peeled potatoes, add 0,5 kg minced, cooked meat, 4 eggs, salt, pepper, dried vegetables. Stir in the other ingredients, season with salt and pepper, add well whipped egg whites. Bake in a tin for about 45 min. at 150 oC. Serve with some sauce (hot or “Hungarian” for example).



This meal was prepared by the the 'OWR Silesia' company from Międzybrodzie Bialskie during the 3rd “Silesian Tastes Festival 2018” in Racibórz. The Team won 2nd place in professional category.
