Czechowice-Dziedzice
The church of Saint Catherine in Czechowice stands in the oldest part of the Town, near the ruins of the castle and the beautifully renovated palace of the Kotuliński family. The church was built in the first half of the eighteenth century, on the initiative of Father Walenty Martius, and with the help of the then owner of the Czechowice lands – Franciszek Karol Count Kotuliński. The shrine has Baroque features. Inside the church, the main altar and a richly decorated pulpit are worth seeing.
Czechowice-Dziedzice
The palace of the Kotuliński family in Czechowice is located in the district of Bażaniec, bordering Bielsko-Biała. The Baroque and Rococo building was erected by the counts of Kotuliński, the then owners of the Czechowice lands, at the end of the first half of the eighteenth century. Later, it belonged, among others, to the Renard and Zipser families. In the twenty-first century, it regained its former glory after a major renovation. The palace was converted into a hotel. The building is surrounded with a well-groomed park, with monumental trees.
Czechowice-Dziedzice
It is unacceptable to be in Barcelone and not to see the Basilica of Sagrada Familia, designed by legendary Antonio Gaudi. The same concerns the church of Christ the Redeemer in Czechowice-Dziedzice, an unusual shrine, built just several years ago. Its brick structure with conspicuous towers impresses architects from all over the world.
In the Silesian province one can admire scenic views on the sources of the Queen of Polish rivers, the Vistula river. One can enjoy fishing in the river. While canoeing along it, we can try to look at Silesia from the river's perspective. Most kayakers select Goczałkowice-Zdrój, a charming resort near Pszczyna, as the starting point. There are 40 kilometers to be covered in Silesia, because the trip may end in Nowy Bieruń. The Vistula flows here quietly, but in its natural riverbed, in the vicinity of ponds and industrial areas as well.
Bestwina
The church in Bestwina may have existed a long time ago, but there are not reliable sources which can prove it. The present brick church was built in the second half of the sixteenth century on the place of a wooden object. The equipment of the church includes the bell called "King of Glory," which has a war exile. On the nearby cemetery, Leon Karol Habsburg is buried. He was a Polish patriot - an officer fighting in the Polish-Bolshevik war
Bestwina
The village of Bestwina, which is a village and the seat of the commune, is located in the district of Bielsko. The first mention of the village dates back to 1326, so does its name, although it is believed that the village is much older. At the time of Mieszko I, there was a settlement of the Vistulans here. The Polish troops under the command of king John III Sobieski passed through Bestwina on their way to Vienna. From the nineteenth century to the Second World War, the village belonged to the Habsburg Żywiec, who in the 20s of the XIX century built a palace here.
