    One of the tourist sights located in the Silesian Park (formerly the Regional Park of Culture and Recreation) is an open-air museum with an area of 22 hectares, in which there are more than 70 historic buildings. The exhibits collected in the museum come from the five sub-regions of Upper Silesia (the Beskids, the Piedmont, Pszczyna-Rybnik, the Industrial sub-region and Lubliniec) and from Zagłębie (Coal Basin). The Museum "Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów" is on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesia province.

    Pszczyna
    One of the attractions of the Historic Park of Pszczyna is the Open-Air Museum - „Croft of the Region of Pszczyna” („Zagroda Wsi Pszczyńskiej”). The museum displays wooden constructions which are exemplary of the timber architecture of the region. Most of them come from the nineteenth century. The open air museum was established in 1975 and in the following years it was gradually being expanded. Currently, there are a dozen objects here. In addition to sightseeing, we can also taste regional dishes in the inn, which is housed in the historic mill. The open air museum is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesia province.

    Żywiecki Park Etnograficzny jest muzeum typu skansenowego, odwzorowującym układ urbanistyczny oraz zabudowę wsi Beskidu Żywieckiego. Na jego teren translokowano już 17 zabytkowych obiektów architektury, głównie drewnianej.

    Muzeum Beskidzkie im. Andrzeja Podżorskiego w Wiśle znajduje się w samym centrum tej wypoczynkowej miejscowości, blisko placu Bogumiła Hoffa. Od początku istnienia mieści się w jednym z najładniejszych obiektów zabytkowych Wisły, czyli XVIII-wiecznej, murowanej karczmie. Głównym celem działalności muzeum jest gromadzenie i prezentowanie dorobku kulturalnego górali Beskidu Śląskiego. Obok Muzeum ulokowano Enklawę Budownictwa Drewnianego.

    Even a few decades ago, a highland village in the Carpathians was a wooden village. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, traditional building is going into the paSt The Andrzej Podżorski Beskid Museum in Wisła wants to recreate what the Beskid village looked like in the past. Therefore, in 2010, the museum opened (in addition to its headquarters) an enclave of the wooden buildings with a forge, a tenant farmer’s hut, a mountain lodge, and an apiary. These objects stand near the old inn called "At the Bear" and a cottage from Jonidło.

    Milówka is a popular summer resort. It lies in the valley of the Soła river, on the border of the Silesian Beskids and the city of Żywiec. In Milówka, on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesia province, there is an old wooden cottage with an original furnishing. This "Old Cottage" is a typical example of traditional architecture building characteristic for the land of Żywiec. Besides, it is one of the oldest buildings in the region. Legend has it that the Polish kings were staying here, including John Casimir escaping the Swedes and John III Sobieski on the way to Vienna.

    Culture Zone in Katowice is located between Spodek arena and new buildings which are the seat of the International Congress Center (MCK), The National Orchestra of Polish Radio (NOSPR) and the Silesian Museum. The location of the Space of Culture adapted the area of former coal mine "Katowice". There you can find, according to a characteristics for Upper Silesia urban designs and motifs, amazing buildings. Tourist can admire a fantastic view from the green roof of the MCK, and Hoist tower of the former pit shaft, on which a panoramic lift is mounted (the Silesian Museum)

    The complex of buildings of the Silesian Museum, situated in the former Katowice coal mine, along with other institutions which are being built here will create the so-called Cultural District - the new centre of cultural life for the city. The coal mine "Katowice" operated from the third decade of the nineteenth century until the end of the last century. In total, about 120 million tons of coal were mined. Characteristic old buildings have remained of the mine, many of whom were built as early as the nineteenth century, and each individual building was given the features inspired by the Romanesque and Gothic styles.

    The Polish Stage Design Center in Katowice is a unique institution in the whole country. It is also a department of the Silesian Museum. It brings together the most important works of Polish theater and film designers or extra-drama activities. It intends to expand the collection of works of artists associated with TV theater and animation film. The centre was established in 1991.

    The Museum of the History of Katowice was founded in 1983 as a continuation of the Social Museum of the History of Katowice and a branch of the Upper Silesian Museum. Currently, the museum is housed in an Art Nouveau building located in the city center street, at the Księdza Szafranka Street. The museum invites you to see two permanent exhibitions: one is devoted to the history of Katowice; the other presents recreated house interiors of the middle and upper classes. The Museum holds a collection of pastels by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz - Witkacy.
