Kozy is a large village lying in the district of Bielsko, in the foothills of the Little Beskids. It is indeed the most populated village in Poland. It has almost 12 thousand inhabitants, which is even more than the population of some towns. In the village there is a manor probably dating from the eighteenth century. It is a neo-Classicist building, whose today’s shape results from the renovations in the nineteenth century. The manor is located in the middle of the park.

Most of the Soviet soldiers who fought against the Germans in the battle for Podbeskidzie in 1945 are buried in 300 individual graves and 21 mass graves. Altogether, 15340 were killed in the battle. Originally, for political and propaganda reasons the Communist authorities located the cemetery (together with the memorial) at a controversial place - opposite the Cathedral.
The Porąbka dam on the Soła river looks both impressive and elegant. In the interwar period, when it was constructed, it was considered the height of technological sophistication. Gabriel Narutowicz, who later became President of Poland, worked on the design of the dam. It was built with much effort to prevent catastrophic flooding in the Soła river valley. After the Second World War, a small power plant was built on the dam.
