Pszów
Pszów, which lies in the district of Wodzisław, is one of several most famous pilgrimage centers of Silesia, which since 2002 has been officially the Shrine of Our Lady Smiling. A picture of Madonna, which was brought by the pilgrims to Pszów in the first half of the eighteenth century, soon became known as miraculous and attracted the faithful from Silesia and Moravia. The title of Minor Basilica was granted to the local church, built in 1747, in 1997.
Pszów
The coal mine “Anna”, whose origins date back to the first half of the nineteenth century, operated until 2012, when the last ton of coal was mined on April 11. In addition to the mine itself, with shafts and other buildings, the workers' housing estate, built in the years 1905-1925, has been preserved to this day. Several dozen houses were then built, as well as administration offices, a shopping center, a canteen and other facilities.
Pszów
The Pszów Calvary is located a short distance from the town center. It is a complex consisting of a neo-Baroque church and fourteen chapels, which depict through sculptural compositions the stations of the Way of the Cross. The Pszów Calvary lies in a picturesque, hilly terrain conducive to an atmosphere of silence and prayer. Along with the nearby sanctuary in Pszów, it is one of the popular pilgrimage destinations in Silesia.
Rydułtowy
The origins of the first church of Saint George in Rydułtowy are not explained thoroughly. It is known, however, that the present church is the fourth successive building erected on the same site, and that the local parish has existed here, at least since 1501. The large, neo-Gothic building of the present church dates from the late nineteenth century. The peculiar concillation crosses with two cross arms, which is the only one of its kind in the Poland, stands next to the church.
