‘The Princely Route - Via Ducalis’ refers to the trail named the same. Mr. Mariusz Makowski is an originator and a promoter of the trail (more information we can find in the publication Droga Książęca - Via Ducalis. Zamki, pałace, kościoły i muzea na Śląsku Cieszyńskim [The princely route - via Ducalis. The Castles, palaces, churches and museums in the Cieszyn Silesia] Wyd. Starostwo Powiatowe w Cieszynie, Cieszyn 2005). Driving along it we can visit some attractive and picturesque towns and villages in the Euroregion where exceptionally beautiful monuments of cultural heritage have been preserved to the present day and where we can find some remains of the then ruling Piast and Habsburg dynasties. It is one-day cross-border car trip. Its programme contains the approximate length of the trail stretches and the duration of sightseeing as well as the map with a marked trip's route and some useful information. Both the programme and a way of touring (driving tourism) and all mentioned attractions make the offer to spend your leisure time. There are other ways of visiting places described in the programme so we can adjust the programme to our needs and choose the way we want to visit recommended interesting places. For example we can travel by bike along stretches of the Euroregional Cycling Loop no 24 C and local subroutes; on foot - walking along tourist and hiking trails in the district or by coach/bus - during coach/bus trips to the mentioned places.

Bielowicko
One of the most beautiful wooden churches in Cieszyn Silesia is Saint Lawrence Church in Biełowicko. The building was erected in 1541. It has valuable furnishings, among others, a triptych, which may come from the time when the church was built. The church, as it was in the past, houses parish offices, although it did not serve this purpose for three centuries. The parish belongs to the diocese of Bielsko and Żywiec. The church is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesia province.
Grodziec
In Grodziec, a village in Cieszyn Silesia, just a few kilometers from Skoczów, we can find two churches of St Bartholomew. The one built of stone and brick at the end of the sixteenth century is in dilapidation. The other was built in the early twentieth century. It is a neo-Gothic brick building, the seat of an independent parish. It is worth a look inside to see the historical part of the equipment of the old church.
Grodziec
The origins of Grodziec, a village lying near Skoczów, go back to at least the twelfth century. The name comes from the wooden Grodek, which in Polish means “an old small settlement”. Grodek, situated in the Duchy of Cieszyn, guarded the trade route from the Polish capital of Kraków, through Cieszyn towards Moravia and Bohemia. For the first time, the village was mentioned as "Świesza" at the beginning of the fourteenth century. At the end of that century, a brick building was erected on the site of the wooden watchtower.
Pierściec
In Pierściec, which is situated the north of Skoczów, in Cieszyn Silesia, we can encounter one of the few sanctuaries of Saint Nicholas in Poland. The local cult of the holy bishop of Myra is related to the miraculous salvation of his figures from the fire which burnt down the local wooden church at the beginning of the seventeenth century. Holy relics from the 60s of the last century can be found in the new church, which was built in the late nineteenth century.
Pierściec
Pierściec, a small village located north of Skoczów, is known primarily for its Shrine of Saint Nicholas, which is unique in Poland. However, only the few know that Pierściec can also boast of an interesting sightseeing and natural attraction, which is a historic mill infested with a colony of very rare bats - lesser horseshoe bats. Therefore, this object is a protected area of special natural habitats of the Natura 2000 network.
