Kubalonka (761 m) is one of the popular passes in the Silesian Beskid, separating the range of Barania Góra and Skrzyczne from the range of Czantoria and Stożek. A road from Wisła to Istebna, which is part of the so-called Beskid Loop, runs through the pass. Kubalonka is also known as a cross-country skiing center. Fans of this sport have at their disposal a lot of excellent trails upgraded in 2009.
The Kubalonka Pass is situated at the height of 758 m above sea level in the Silesian Beskid mountain range. It is known for the church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It is one of the monuments located on the Wooden Architecture Trail. The church was moved here from Przyszowice near Gliwice in the 50s of the twentieth century and for a time served as a museum. The Kubalonka Pass is also the starting point for hiking trails leading towards the massifs of Mount Barania Góra.
The chapel of Saint Hedwig on the hill of Zadni Groń in Wisła is part of the mansion belonging to the President of the Republic of Poland. The wooden Tyrolean-style building was erected in 1909, at the time when the hunting mansion of the Habsburgs, which had been built a bit earlier) was already standing nearby. Today, the property is located in the area administered by the Office of the President,but it is open to the public. Both Evangelical and Catholic services are held here.
The Mansion of the President of the Republic of Poland in Wisła is a Modernist building, erected in the years 1929-1930, in a picturesque, wooded area on the slopes of the hill called Zadni Groń, in the southern part of Wisła. It is the Residence of the President. The mansion resembling a medieval castle was designed by Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz. It was built from donations of the inhabitants of Silesia and ceremoniously handed over to President Ignacy Mościcki.
One of the greatest assets of Wisła, a town located in the mountains, is the wildlife of the Silesian Beskid. Mountains, streams and forests full of animals aroused admiration as early as the nineteenth century, when a planned forest management was launched. While staying in the resort at the foot of Barania Góra, it is worthwhile to visit the Historical Chamber and the Office of the Forester, which are situated at the building of the Forestry Management office.
