Sośnicowice, situated in the district of Gliwice, is one of the smallest towns in Silesia and in entire Poland. The origins of the settlement are not adequately explained, but it was probably founded in the thirteenth century. In the course of time, a gradually growing village evolved into a spatial layout that has survived to our days. Nineteenthcentury houses have survived around the centrally located market. There are also several other, much older monuments.
