The Church of St Nicholas in Przyrów

The church of Saint Nicholas of Przyrów is a small shrine of an unusual shape. It is located 1.5 km to the southwest of the center of the village. It was built probably in the late seventeenth century. The church is made of limestone and covered with a shingled roof. The sanctuary is oriented. The tower on a square plan stands on the west side, and the circular chancel, topped with a dome, adjoins the wide nave.

Przyrów
Przyrów is located on the northern edge of Silesia. Its history dates back to the reign of King Casmir the Great. The last of the Piast dynasty on the Polish throne granted town privileges to Komorów, a small village on the Wiercica. However, the town proper under the name of Przyrów developed close to the village. It has retained its former layout with a rectangular network market and adjacent streets to this day.
Przyrów
The Reserve „Wielki Las" (Great Forest) is located in the Landscape Park “Stawki”. It is one of the smallest protected areas of this type in Poland. The reserve was created in 1982 to protect the most valuable natural part of the park. It has an area of 32 ha. It is a swampy area with numerous streams and wetlands, covered with a wet alder-ash forest. In the groundcover, there are, among others, such plants as northern giant horsetail, clasping twistedstalk and common spotted orchid.
Aleksandrówka
The Shrine of Saint Anne is associated with the miraculous figure of Saint Anna revered here for five hundred years. She is presented here accompanied by the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus. The church itself was built in the years 1609-1617. There is also a seventeenth-century monastery, which for about two centuries served the Bernardines, and later, in the second half of the nineteenth century, it became a convent of the Dominican sisters, and has been serving them to the present.
Julianka
The Stawki Landscape Park is located in the commune of Przyrów, in the area defined as the Włoszczowa Basin (situated in the close vicinity of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland). Being the smallest landscape park in Poland, it comprises sparsely populated marshy woodlands, creating a wildlife haven for various species of plants and animals.
Julianka
In Julianka, a village located to the north of Złoty Potok, there is an interesting railroad station with a splendid main building and a nearby water tower. These buildings were erected in 1911 on the railway line between Kielce and Częstochowa. This grand station served, among others, guests of the Counts of Raczyński from Złoty Potok. In 1976, the station was the scene of one of the worst railroad disasters in Polish history.
The Wiercica is a short, clean, very scenic river, which flows entirely (about 30 km) through the Silesian voivodeship. It flows from its sources to Janów in a beautiful valley, popular with tourists due to its natural and sightseeing attractions. The short distance between the village of Sygontka and the confluence with the Warta river offers an extremely attractive white water rafting trip.
