The church located at 12 Miejska Street in Rybnik is one of the parish churches of the Katowice diocese of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession. The origins of the church erected on this site are associated with an old wooden building used for storing and drying fishing nets, which during the reign of Frederick William, King of Prussia, was reconstructed and adapted for the church. The present building dates from the mid-nineteenth century.

The present form of the palace primarily resulted from the rebuilding in the eighteenth century, when it was given the late baroque and neoclassicist appearance.

The market square in Rybnik has served as the center of the city since the Middle Ages. Old, wooden buildings around the square were destroyed in many fires, so the houses that surround the market square come mainly from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Worthy of note is the Classicist town hall, decorated with a clock tower, from the 20s of the nineteenth century. It now houses, inter alia, the Rybnik Museum. A late Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the market square.
