The Silesian Amusement Park in Chorzów is the
largest and oldest funfair in Poland. For decades,
residents of Silesia and tourists have been
entertained by many attractions. Everyone,
regardless of age, can find something for
themselves: from family entertainment to extreme
experiences. From the most popular and biggest
carousel in Poland called Big Star you can enjoy
panoramic views of the area (gondolas rise to more
than 45 m) and we will ride the Tornado
rollercoaster at a speed of 60 km/h!
The church of Saint Joseph in Katowice is located a few
kilometers from the city center, in the district of Załęże.
This impressive, neo-Gothic church was designed by famous
architect Ludwik Schneider. The building was erected
between 1898 and 1900, but an independent parish was
separated two years earlier. The residents of Załęże, shocked
by the catastrophe in the mine "Kleofas" in 1896, dedicated
to Saint Joseph, the patron of good death.
Silesia City Center in Katowice is one of the largest in Silesia - a shopping, service and entertainment centres located west of the city centre, adjacent to the green spaces of the Silesian Park. The center was built on the site of the former coal mine "Eminencja" (later "Gottwald"). Therefore, millions of customers can admire a winding tower and brick buildings of the machine and boiler stations.
The Silesian Zoological Garden in Chorzow is one of the many attractions that can be benefit from the Silesian Park. Thanks to its great location in the center of the Silesian agglomeration, it is a crowded place visited by numerous inhabitants of the region and many tourists (about 400 thousand guests
per year!). You will find here more than 2500 animals from all over the world. Besides,there are a mini-zoo and the Dinosaur Rock Valley, which attract the youngest.
The Jerzy Ziętek Silesian Park in Chorzów, until recently known as the Regional Park of Culture and Recreation, is called "green lungs" of the industrial
agglomeration. It covers more than 600 acres. Everyone will find here something for themselves, from relaxing walks to mass events. There are many
attractions in the park , such as the Planetarium (the largest and oldest in Poland), the Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park, the Silesian Stadium, the Silesian
Amusement Park (the largest in Poland), and the Rose Garden.
Since its beginnings in 1865, the history of the industrial city of Katowice was inextricably linked to the presence of Jews.
