The cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Gliwice is among the most beautiful neo-Gothic churches in Silesia. It was built in the years 1896-1900. The building was erected in the Latin cross plan, with three naves and the choir. The tower rises up to a height of over 70 meters. The facade and the walls of the church were decorated with impressive and glazed and clinker bricks. In 1992, Pope John Paul II raised the church to the rank of the Cathedral of the Gliwice diocese.
